Six out of eight ancient Greek plays can now be heard at PortableRadio.ca. Now that the audio part of our plays are done, it's time for the tricky part: figuring out how to act with masks while the audio is playing.

I hope everyone gets to know their parts really well before we perform for Mrs. Belchamber's class next Thursday. I plan to videotape the performances so you can share them with your families during March Break!
In your agenda:
  • Milk orders due next Wednesday.
  • Pizza orders due by next Thursday.
  • Next Friday is a PD Day and the following week is March Break.

Another snow, well, rain day. 18 intrepid students managed to brave the elements and come to school today. Today was a productive one. After working on "Daily Language", we finished our posters for our ancient Greece plays and watched part of a video about Theseus and the Minotaur. We worked on chest and bounce passes in basketball and continued our exploration of forces acting on structure in science.

We also got to watch the end of the very exciting Canada/USA men's hockey game. I'm glad we hung on for the win! Yesterday's Canada/USA women's hockey game was as exciting as they come, wasn't it! I'm glad we were able to get the video to work so we could see team Canada tie it up at end of the 3rd period and win the gold medal in overtime.

In your agenda
  • Pajama Day (for our class only) this Monday
  • Canada/Sweden hockey final is 7am on Sunday!
  • Book orders are due Tuesday.

Our ancient Greek plays are taking shape. We've recorded two of the right groups. Thanks for giving up your recess time to get this done. Once all groups have recorded their plays the next step is to add music and sound effects. After that, we'll make masks for the characters and figure out the actions for our play.

In Science, Ms. Irick has started a new unit on Forces Acting on Structures. We will be looking at what goes into making structures like bridges and towers strong. We'll become more familiar with vocabulary like rigid, flexible, compression, tension, Newtons and more.

In Math we are starting work on understanding decimal tenths and hundredths. Check the math section of this website for ways to practice!

In your agenda:
  • Book orders were sent home today. Orders are due by Tuesday, February 25.
  • A letter about Fit4Kids was sent home.
